Caledonia Pride have arrived in Girona, Spain as they continue to prepare for the 2017-18 WBBL season with a number of competitive preparation games over the next three days.

Caledonia Pride are delighted to confirm that six Scottish players have committed to Scotland’s only female professional basketball team for the upcoming 2017-18 season.

With all six players having already gained WBBL experience with Pride last year, today’s announcement ensures that a minimum of three Scots will be on the floor at any point for Bart Sengers’ team next season.

Sharp-shooting Sarah Thomson will be looking to replicate her outstanding first season with Caledonia Pride and is excited to have a core of Scots players returning to the programme: “I am super excited for the season to get started again, especially with how much we progressed in our first season in the WBBL. Playing back at home, with other Scottish players is always great. Each game at home is amazing for myself and the other home grown players. We have a really good chance to grow the game here and we can’t wait to get started in October.”

Joining Thomson for a second year with Pride will be Beth Mackie, Kirsten Simpson, Hannah Peacock, Hilary Wood and Hannah Robb.

Pride will be in home-court action at their season opener on October 7th when they take on defending WBBL Champions, Nottingham Wildcats.
