Caledonia Pride welcome the arrival of 18 year old Luisa Velazquez from Spain.

Growing up in Seville, Luisa was a member of club youth teams that were Seville Champion three times and participated in 2 Andalusia Championships with regional side Team Seville. At the age of just 16, Luisa made her debut in Spain’s in Senior National League with Club Naútico Sevilla, where she continued to play until moving to Scotland.

On joining Pride, Luisa said: “I am so exited and grateful to have the chance to take part of this great team, being able to share experiences with the teammates that I have been knowing through Zoom and in practice. This opportunity allows me to keep developing myself on one of my biggest passions. I really hope to be able to learn and contribute as much as possible with the team.”

Pride head coach Bart Sengers is excited about the arrival of Velazquez, saying: “When Luisa contacted me to tell me she was coming to study in Edinburgh and wanted to play I was pleasantly surprised.  I believe she will be a good fit for our style of play. She likes to play hard and with pace and she has good vision.

“She will be studying here for 4 years so I am looking forward to help her develop and I am curious to find out how good she can become.”
