Caledonia Pride v Manchester Mystics

Sunday 3rd November, 1:30pm tip

Emirates Arena

Caledonia Pride welcome Manchester Mystics to the Emirates Arena on Sunday in the second home game of the 19/20 WBBL campaign.

Pride will be looking to bounce back from last weekend’s narrow loss to Oaklands Wolves down in St Albans.

Mystics suffered their first Chamiponship loss of the season last weekend, falling to Sheffield Hatters.

Prior to the loss the side picked up victories over Cardiff Met Archers, 83-61, and Oaklands Wolves, 88-44.

Manchester are captained by Great Britain guard Georgia Jones, who was named in the Molten All-British Team of the Year last season, having averaged 13.3 points, 5 rebounds and 8.1 assists per game.

Mystics’ roster also includes the returning Dominique Allen, a 2012 Olympian and Commonwealth Games silver medallist, and Sara Djassi, who came within four steals of a historic quadruple-double last weekend (19 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, six steals).

Maela Faleu remains sidelined but is expected to return in the near future, whilst Jenni Torrance and Jenna Beattie both also miss the game through injury.

Bart Sengers is fully aware of the quality within Manchester’s experienced side:

“Manchester is a very strong team, both as a team as well as physically individual. It will be a tough challenge but we are looking forward to measuring ourselves with them. They play smart and with power, so we need to be out best and really come to battle. Boxing out and limiting the effectiveness of their post up game is essential while containing their shooters. This is difficult but I am keen to see how we will execute that. Our advantage could be in transition so we will look to get some offensive transition points on the board, although we don't expect such an experienced team to just give those up. In short this game will be another great opportunity to learn together and improve.”

Tickets for the game can be purchased here, with a live stream and updates also available via Pride’s social channels.
