Sheffield Hatters v Caledonia Pride
Following the international break, Pride returned to WBBL action with a trip to Sheffield to take on the unbeaten Hatters. The game saw Pride giving a debut to experienced Scottish forward Erin McGarrachan, who looked at home in the team from the opening tip-off. However it was Hatters who had the stronger start to the game as they built a lead of 11 points during the 1st quarter, before Pride pulled it back to 6 by the end of the period. Pride cut the lead to just 3 points midway through Q2, before a strong finish to the 1st half saw the home side go into the interval leading 38-29.
The 3rd quarter was a scrappy affair, with Pride giving up 14 points to Sheffield at the free-throw line, with those fouls impacting on the contribution of Sian Phillips during the 2nd half, however improved shooting by Pride in the period kept them in the game with a 12 point deficit going into the 4th. But the experienced Hatters side pulled away in the end to take a 86-66 win.
