Four Caledonia Pride players are currently representing the club, and Scotland, on GB duty across Europe.

Alix Henderson, Shawnisay Miller and Sian Phillips are all currently with GB U20 Women in Prishtina, Kosovo, taking part in FIBA U20 Europe. The trio all featured as they went 1-1 in the group stages, falling 72-58 to Ireland before recording a 58-53 victory over Ukraine. The team now face Croatia on Wednesday evening.

The squad also won back-to-back warm up games against their hosts Greece in the build up to the Championships.

Elsewhere, Ella Doherty has made the final roster for GB U16 Women for the second successive year.

Having played in a range of warm up games and tournament across the summer, including the Maggie Forber Invitational and tests against Ireland and Denmark, the team will head to Sofia later in the month to compete at FIBA U16 Europe.

Earlier in the summer, Pollyanna Storie played an important role in the GB U18 Women’s FIBA U18 Europe campaign, meaning a total of five Pride players have featured for GB during 2019.

Head Coach Bart Sengers was full of praise for all the players:

“I’m proud of these Caledonia Pride players. They have worked hard and it has not always been easy, especially Shawnisay’s rehab. They’re a great group of players.”

Updates on the players’ progress can be found via GB Basketball’s social channels.
