Following a two year sabbatical our Assistant Coach, Donnie MacDonald, will be returning to Edinburgh Napier University. Donnie has been an integral part of our coaching staff at Pride and we wish him well on his return to academia.

Head Coach Bart Sengers said “Donnie has been an integral part of our staff for 4 seasons with these last 2 being a full time coach. I am impressed with his development as a coach and trainer and glad to have had the chance to work with him. He did an excellent job stepping in as the Head Coach this season, leading the practices and games. He helped our players develop as much as he developed himself and I am grateful for that. He always looked for ways to improve our programme, players, practices and himself and he did it with a smile. His presence, enthusiasm and that smile will be missed. Donnie also has been instrumental in developing the culture within the Pride team leading by example by being humble, hungry and smart. The ideal team player!”

General Manager Barry Lang stated “We have been extremely fortunate to have such a dedicated and humble student of the game as Donnie. His passion for the game, our players and our programme has been first class. It should also be noted that Donnie was our Covid Lead with both sportscotland Institute of Sport and the WBBL, which ensured both our training sessions and match day protocols were compliant. I’d personally like to thank Donnie for his commitment on and off the court, Caledonia Pride is a better franchise due to his positive influence, coaching philosophy and pastoral care. Whilst Donnie will be stepping back from pro team involvement, we are hoping that he will be involved in the development of our pro Academy in the coming seasons”.
